Culture and history

Marche is the region in Italy with the most cultural assets: 500 squares, over 100 important monuments, 37 castles, 15 palaces, 15 fortresses and 170 towers, thousands of churches (including 200 Romanesque), 96 abbeys, 183 sanctuaries, 72 historical theatres - all restored and in operation.

And Casale Tre Gelsi is right in the middle of all of them. From us you can reach both the southern and the northern part of the Marche in about 1 hour.

The region also boasts the highest density of museums and art galleries and important libraries, including the library of the Eremo di Fonte Avellana and the Leopardi family, which preserve ancient volumes.

The Marche basically forms a great open-air museum, with masterpieces by Piero della Francesca, Lorenzo Lotto, Raffaello, Carlo Crivelli, Peter Paul Rubens, Titian and many others. Not forgetting the ancient Roman roads and excavations, all testimony to a flourishing past.

The beautiful Renaissance city of Urbino, the university town of Macerata or Cingoli, Jesi and Osimo with their imposing city walls are all within easy reach.

And in only about an hour's drive from Casale Tre Gelsi you can also reach the historic towns of Umbria such as Gubbio, Assisi and Perugia.
